The Deep Seal Seals identity was branded in June 2012 as the Wärtsilä distributor sales pathway for its seals and bearings products, which include the recent acquisition of Cederval, a prominent manufacturer of shaft seal and bearing systems for the marine industry. Merged with Wärtsilä's existing seals and bearings capabilities, this acquisition has created the market's leader in water and oil lubricated seals, bearings, couplings, stern tubes and complete small vessel propulsion systems.
Flexibility and uniquely focused attention is what Deep Sea Seals brings to the table, especially when it comes to urgent customer demands. Deep Sea Seals covers all seals and bearings related functions under one umbrella: research and development, production, engineering and sales support. Target markets include new builds and retrofits alike. Wärtsilä is a global giant and leader in complete lifecycle power solutions for the marine and energy markets and the distributor sales channel allows focus on building and maintaining close ties to the market place. The importance lies in customer service and integrated solutions for all Deep Sea Seals customers. Brian Fariello, Wärsilä Sales Americas, says, “Customers can place their trust in Deep Sea Seals. It’s a product that’s backed by Wärtsilä’s 178 years of experience and solid performance history. We’re going to be there for them. The new builds, the retrofits, and parts all come with technical service and dependability that’s always going to be there for them.”
Not
limited to seals and bearings, the Deep Sea Seals portfolio can supply
complete small vessel, fixed pitch propulsion systems and other integrated
solutions and services to its clients. Integrated propulsion systems,
from the output of the gearbox through the propeller and rudder, is
a big benefit for shipyards who can then rely on a seasoned supplier
to deliver a significant portion of the propulsion system under a single
purchase order.
New Environmental Products Which Lower Operating Costs

bronze or
composite technology.
Steerguard Seal - Rudder stock sealing systems.

Release Issued By: Michael Vasallo, Business Development Director of NAVALEX International.
Navalex International has been a leader in providing Brazil with commercial marine products since 1988. A strong sales team with extensive technical experience has built a robust customer network in Brazil. This network allows Navalex to properly position products and assure that the right conversations are happening with the appropriate people.
Orca Representação e Consultoria, founded in 2005, is a representation and consulting firm committed to the Brazilian commercial marine market offering equipment for tugboats, offshore platforms and support vessels. As a result of impressive business growth, Orca Representação e Consultoria Ltda. has closed a deal with the global trading company Navalex International Inc. The recent management transition has created a more customer focused organization with a long term strategy and efficient operations.
The period of transition was started in November 2011 and is now completed. Navalex has taken full control of Orca’s management and commercial activities since March 1st. Navalex becomes responsible for expanding the business in Brazil for the companies that Orca represents, as well as establishing ground on the actual clients.
Brazil has proven to be a strong and growing market for Navalex. More than $8.9 billion in Government financing is being prepared for Brazilian shipbuilders and owners in the next two years. Navalex is in a unique position to maximize the opportunities this market has to offer. During the second week of March, Navalex attended an event titled “Meet the Buyer” in Rio de Janeiro. Over the course of two days, meetings were held with more than 20 shipyards and were made aware of over 40 new builds. Follow-ups and meeting schedules have already been made with the appropriate parties. By maintaining a constant presence with customers, Navalex can assure that the right products are considered from the project’s initiation.
This transition will increase efficiency in project follow up and sales capability, as well as enhance communication between represented companies and their clients during project follow ups on the several phases, from the first quote to the commissioning.
Navalex’s office in Miami will coordinate project follow up, invoicing and client relationship management. Orca’s office will act as an advanced sales base within 30 minutes from the main ship owners and shipbuilders of Brazil, and steps from Rio’s local airport within range to all Brazilian shipbuilding hubs.
Navalex has dedicated a team of four key personnel to assure a smooth operation in Brazil:
The management transition will enhance efficiency, produce better results, and more importantly, provide better customer service. Navalex is dedicated to Brazil and will see that all opportunities are maximized for all of their clients.
